Chris Strain, FNP-BC

A recent graduate from Clarkson College’s Family Nurse Practitioner program, Chris enjoys caring for patients from infancy through senior years. He spent a year and a half at Prairie Family Medicine during this training, where he got to know many of the patients and providers well. Chris’ approach to medicine is holistic, with a focus on diet, exercise, and optimal nutrition. He is most passionate about preventive medicine and quality of life for his patients across the lifespan.

Born and raised in Rathdrum, ID, Chris spent many years working for the family construction business before graduating with a nursing degree from North Idaho College in 2010. Chris has been in the medical field for nearly 15 years, primarily working in intensive care but also in emergency medicine, palliative care, and hospice. In 2015, he received a master’s in health information management from Regis University in Colorado and worked as a nurse analyst for the largest hospital system in Colorado. Afterwards, he spent several years as a travel nurse.

Chris has many interests and enjoys spending time with his family and friends. Some of his favorite hobbies are hunting, fishing, hiking, wood carving, and reading. He is also a published children’s author and enjoys bringing new stories to life. He is excited to continue exploring his home state and share his many years of nursing experience with the Coeur d’Alene area.

Chris is accepting new patients with Blue Cross of Idaho, Cigna, First Choice, United Healthcare, and Medicare.
