Dr. Lorion graduated from University of Washington School of Medicine in 1993, with honors in geriatrics and rehabilitation medicine. She completed residency training in Kansas City at UMKC’s Family Medicine Residency, in 1996. Board-certified in Family Medicine, she established a medical practice in Rathdrum, Idaho in 1999, moving it to Coeur d’Alene in 2006 after giving birth to twins. She served as chair-elect and then chairperson of the Family Practice Department at Kootenai Health for a total of 5 years, and on Kootenai Health’s Cancer committee for 10 years. She joined Prairie Family Medicine in 2024.

Dr. Lorion sees all ages, including veterans, takes a wholistic approach to healthcare. She took additional training while in medical school and residency in geriatrics, rehabilitation, dermatology, gastroenterology, podiatry, infectious disease & immunology, rheumatology, pulmonology, nephrology, orthopedics, psychiatry, cardiology, endocrinology and medical ethics. She advocates for a collaborative, communicative approach which respects patients’ autonomy and dignity, aiming to maximize quality of life and reduce or avoid suffering.

Dr. Lorion hikes, skis, dances, plays fiddle, sews, draws and writes.
